The WNBA
The women's national basketball association was created on the 24 April 1996 by the NBA. They decided that woman need a league of their own so they made up 12 teams to play in a tournament. Easily they found a lot of talent and interest.Teams and the league were collectively owned by the NBA until the end of 2002, when the NBA sold WNBA teams either to their NBA counterparts in the same city or to a third party, as a result of the dot-com bubble. The WNBA (women's national basketball association) is very successful The official maximum WNBA salary for veteran players in 2018 was $113,500. Quite a bit shy of the massive paydays and endorsement deals of their male counterparts. In fact, mid-level NBA players were making $5 million to $10 million a year, with the top players raking in $26 million to $30 million.
